The Ralph Bharati M.D., P.A., Psychiatric and Addiction Services, is a group of mental health and chemical dependency providers who function as a comprehensive treatment team to deliver services in an outpatient setting. Dr. Ralph Bharati is the treatment team leader. Team members include: psychiatrists, a psychologist, a physician assistant, therapists, registered nurses, substance abuse counselors, and case managers. The team utilizes the bio-psychosocial model of mental health treatment which views mental illness and substance abuse as diseases that affect the patients in a variety of ways; and as such, treatment must not only focus on the biological aspects of intervention but also the patients social and psychological functioning. Services are individualized for each patient, and the team approach enables each patient to work with a provider that has expertise in the area that meets the patient’s unique needs. The use of the treatment concept allows for more innovative interventions and treatment approaches to help maintain the patient in an outpatient level of care. This reduces the need of higher levels of care, which is disruptive to the patient, his/her family, employment, and community. |
